St Chrisopher Catholic Parish, Games Village, Kaura, Abuja
Has grown from strength to strength since the first official mass that ushered it into the sphere of the Abuja Archdiocese under the leadership of the local Ordinary, John Cardinal Onaiyekan, Archbishop of Abuja and Most Rev. Anslem Umoren MSP, Auxilliary Bishop of Abuja.
First Mass was celebrated by the Irish Priest, Father Conolly SPS
He continues the then out-station of St. Linus Parish, Chika Alieta, on the Airport Road, Abuja. This was before moving to the One hectare or 10,000 square meters land acquired for the church by the Archbishop.
The Church community continues to worship in a ‘Bacha’ which sits about 500 worshippers.
St. Christophers was ceded to the St. Patrick’s Missionary Society SPS whose headquarters is based in Nairobi, Kenya.
